Swoosh hosted the second Local Democracy Week campaign, with nearly 2000 young people logging on to vote for their new Youth Champion for 2011-12.
The winner, Cllr Richard Bertin, will now be representing young people all over the Vale of Glamorgan and wants to hear from you: RJBertin@valeofglamorgan.gov.uk
The website is also hosting the Shaping A Positive Future Campaign which features sub-campaigns aimed at positive relationships, bullying and cyberbullying and raising awareness of the forthcoming Eisteddfod in July 2012. ‘LOVE’ is the first of the feature campaigns running on Swoosh, where you can find out more about love, healthy relationships, watch videos, top 10 tips, enter competitions and win prizes.
The Swoosh Editorial Group has recently been awarded funding from the Vale Volunteer Bureau (VVB) to support the running of the group until March for meetings, new t-shirts, promotional materials and lots more.
The Swoosh Editorial Group, Swoosh website and social network site Facebook and Twitter are continuing to have new members are signing up, getting involved, posting stories, opinions and creative writing.
