ProMo-Cymru was commissioned by Holos Education to produce a series of animated videos to help children and young people with additional learning needs, and their parents, to transition from the Special Educational Needs (SEN) system, to the new Additional Learning Needs and Education Tribunal (Wales) Act 2018.

Young people were consulted on all the content – from the script to the style and format. Our team of helpline advisers from our Meic service, who talk to children and young people on an everyday basis, also revised them.

There are a total of three videos that provide a youth-friendly guide looking at the following topics:

– Whether a child or young person has additional learning needs and creating an Individual Development Plan (IDP)
– A guide for parents to support their children
– How to appeal to the Special Educational Needs Tribunal (Wales)

The videos were created in partnership with local councils in Bridgend, Cardiff, Merthyr Tydfil, Rhondda Cynon Taf and the Vale of Glamorgan.
