New staff: Thomas Williams

Tom Williams has recently come onboard as the Sub-Editor of theSprout.

Tom, 22, first got involved with theSprout over six years ago as a volunteer feature and review writer. At the time, he was one of the Welsh Government’s six youth climate change ambassadors, so he aired his views and campaigns using theSprout as a platform.

Thoroughly inspired by theSprout’s potential as a creative, useful space, he got involved with the Editorial Group to have his say on how it should grow and be run.

It is reliably reported that he still enjoys their biscuit-fuelled youth-led meetings today! Tom was there at the legendary Sprout launch event in Clwb Ifor Bach, where he performed a speech alongside the Lord Mayor (yes, she came to Clwb!).

Tom is a Cardiff born-and-bred Oxford geography graduate. He is a passionate environmental volunteer, charity fundraiser and campaigner, and is a children’s leader at kids clubs and holiday clubs.

He says he is now delighted to be working more with “older” young people in his work at ProMo-Cymru.

He loves new ideas, socialising, meeting new people, basketball, tennis, swimming and music. He is part of a dying breed who still buys albums…
