The Abacus hosted its biggest event yet on 7 November. Split over two floors for one weekend only, Fotofringe and the Art Hotel took place at the former Cardiff Bus ticket shop. Local artists became residents at the hotel for a week, transforming the rooms into an experimental, magical and interactive space. The event attracted over 400 visitors and was a huge success.

ProMo-Cymru hosted a young professionals networking event at The Abacus on the opening night of the Art Hotel. Fiftyone3 is a successful local networking group that aims to make their events relaxed and social. With food from Kahve Café @ Ebbw Vale Institute (EVi), music from local musician Kirk Morgan and Ed the DJ, and surrounded by art, the group said it was the best event they have been to so far.
