Meic 24 Hour Launch / 26th January 2011

by promocymru_admin | 18th Jan 2011

The Deputy Minister for Children Huw Lewis AM will be officially launching the 24 hour ‘meic‘ service on Wednesday 26 January 2011 at the St David’s Lounge, Millennium Stadium, Cardiff at 09:45 and we would like to invite you to join us until 11:00.

We are delighted that Coronation Street star Sam Aston (who plays young market trader Chesney Battersby-Brown) will be joining the Deputy Minister at the launch and will be endorsing the service we have in Wales.

In addition to this, you will hear first hand how the service has been operating and its successes to date.

Almost 4,000 children and young people throughout Wales have contacted the ‘meic‘ helpline since it was launched in May 2010. Due to this success we are now extending the opening hours to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, from 26 January. The service will continue to provide a single point of contact via telephone, text or instant messaging for comprehensive information and will signpost to other services and provide access to independent professional advocates as and when required..

Please join us at what we hope will be an inspirational milestone in the development of the ‘meic‘ service.
