CLIC Awards: The Results

The National Museum Cardiff was host to the CLIC Awards 2011. Held on Saturday 19th November between 18:00 and 21:00, the award ceremony celebrated the outstanding work that young people across Wales did over the past year.

Over 200 young people and professionals from all over Wales attended the event along with guest-of-honour Jeff Cuthbert AM, Deputy Minister for Skills, who announced the winner of CLICer of the Year Award.

Winners included Rant On Religion for Funniest Article, Amnesia: The Dark Descent for Best Review, a poem named Pink Floyd, I Love You for Best Creative Article and Be Yourself, Make A Difference for Most Useful Article.

Akshay1, a CLIC user from Swansea, was crowned Photographer of the Year, while a collaborative effort between young people from Anglesey, Neath Port Talbot and Vale Of Glamorgan won Video of the Year for their video entitled Moustachio!.

A young person with the username of Kranenvurhurr earned the accolade of Best Newvcomer for his valued involvement with his local site Young Flintshire, while Most Involved CLICer was given to theSprout member Stormer007 for his positivity towards the project.

One of the biggest winners was Ihavethecyrusvirusx, from Rhondda Cynon Taff. Since starting her involvement in the CLIC project on November 2010, the once quiet and shy girl has gained confidence through the involvement with CLIC.
